About Us

In Sinhalese BHISO means ‘Queen ‘of the Palace. She embodies the ancestral local feminine persona of class, vibrancy, beauty and sassiness of the stylish local woman in the bygone Kandyan Kingdom of Sri Lanka.
Ethnic Sri Lankan jewellery was an important statement of both fashion and power in the olden days of the Kandyan Kingdom, dating (1469-1815). A symbol of Royalty, this jewellery features intricate processes made out of an old-world craft practiced extensively in this era of rich heritage.
Our selection of fine jewellery from BHISO features recreations of these stunning pieces brought to life with the same bespoke craftsmanship passed down by our ancestors and practiced today in Sri Lanka.
BHISO pieces carry ethnic Kandyan inspired motifs and designs which vary from simple and cool to vibrant and grand.
Our collection is handpicked with love and passion with a myriad of styles that are solid and rare.
BHISO is a mystical treasure chest, from the last kingdom of Ceylon.
You can now rummage through and pick your piece of love, for modern-day indulgence and elegance.

What our logo resembles

Our brand logo resembles one of the most iconic woodcraft motifs of the Kandyan Kingdom. It is known as the “Binara Mala” ( Binara Flower).

This beautiful and intricate motif is carved in the form of a flower with stacked petals within a cubic design and is found on the pillars of the famous arcaded structure in the “Embekke Devalaya” (Embekke Temple) in Kandy.

It is a timeless inspiration of classy craftsmanship and design, rooted in the rich traditional Kandyan era, just like the jewellery we carry here at BHISO.
